If me and my girl were going out with friends I would make her wear a dress or skirt because it was more feminine and I also thought it would send a subliminal message to them that I was the one who wore the pants in the relationship. Hmm. What can I say - nobody tells me what to wear and I certainly would never dictate to my husband what he should wear either. I think its curious that you would want people to know that you wear the pants in the relationship - nowadays, people tend to have more respect and admiration for a man who is equal to his partner and has the male strength to stand up to a proper woman. I would say that you are in danger of sounding insecure, and not very manly...sorry but thats what it sounds like.

If my husband ASKED me to wear a skirt or dress I probably would but he wouldn't dream of trying to ';make'; me dress any particular way. He's confident enough in his manhood that he doesn't feel he has to prove anything to anyone but himself.
My husband lets me choose what I want to wear, he never tells me what I have to wear. I am an adult, I can choose my own clothes. I don't think you should tell your girl what to wear, she needs to wear what she feels comfortable in. Besides making her wear a dress does not prove that you ';wear the pants in the relationship';
In my opinion, I don't think making your girl wear a dress or a skirt will send a message like that. My close friends that are guys don't mind me wearing anything because they think I should have the right to wear something comfortable but also fashionable for going out to the public.
